Nest camera on black redstart

Black redstarts are very, very rare. Even more rarer is seeing them close up on a bird camera. The BBC film a brood nesting in a secret location in Birmingham.

It is said that there are only 90 breeding pairs in England and Wales choosing to nest in old abandoned buildings, normally in cities and industrial areas throughout England.

Facts about black redstart:
  • Latin name - Phoenicurus ochruros
  • Size - Small as a robin
  • What they eat - Insects, spiders and worms
