Choosing a good bird box camera

Good bird box cameras should have certain characteristics that allow you to get maximum enjoyment from watching your birds. Over the years, Handykam have developed many features to our nest box cameras over the years. We now sell them either as complete bird box camera kits or as complete bird box camera kits.

So what is it and what do you need?
A bird box camera is a small camera that is placed in a bird box allowing you to watch and listen the delights of nesting birds. Most bird box cameras have the following key features:
  • Small size to fit into a bird box easily
  • Good optics to allow you to get the best out of the camera
  • Focusable and interchangeable lenses
  • Solid robust design, stopping any potential damage from birds if they were to nibble at the camera
  • Swivel and tilt bracket for ease of positioning
  • Secure and quick release fixings
  • LDR light sensor to turn on off IR lights
  • Small sensitive microphone
  • Easy to connect connectors
There is nothing better than seeing a bird attract a mate to the nest box, build a nest, lay eggs, watch the eggs hatch and the chicks grow before witnessing them fledge right before your eyes. Its like having your own wildlife channel.
Also, don't forget in order to get the best out of your bird box camera, you need a good cables, power supply and camera bird box too. If this is all too much to work out you can always get a complete bird box camera system.
